Experience a variety of educational activities that trace the significant cultural contributions of Minnesota’s Dakota and Ojibwe communities in Minnesota’s past, present and future. Students will discover Minnesota’s early Dakota and Ojibwe heritage and encounter real stories of the changing traditions still observed by modern Dakota and Ojibwe families in Minnesota.

Featuring...

  • Interactive history lessons about the Dakota and Ojibwe people and their role in Minnesota’s first big business: the fur trade.
  • Admission to all History Center museum exhibits.
  • Museum activites that help students dig deeper into exhibit themes.
  • Make-It, Take-It craft activity.
  • A visit with a costumed History Player, John Beargrease, an Ojibwe mail carrier on Minnesota’s North Shore.
  • Supporting classroom materials designed to address Minnesota’s graduation standards.
  • Coatroom and lunchroom space and special family room.

Target Grade Level: Program is designed to accommodate students in grades preschool through 12th grade.

Cost per Child/Student: $7 ($6/member)
Children 3 and under accompanying families admitted free.
Cost per Adult/Educator: $7 ($6/member)
Museum Adventure passes are not accepted for this event.
