Water is an essential source of life for plants and animals. Find out how water – oxygen and two hydrogens – affects our world. Learn a little chemistry including the pH scale, common nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorous, and how these elements interact with each. Do hands-on water quality testing and look for aquatic insects and find out how they can be indicators of water quality at the Quaking Bog.
All students should bring along a bagged lunch or snack and a nature journal or notebook with colored pencils for sketching and notetaking.
All programs meet at the front gate of the Garden.
