Minnesota Orchestra Young People's Concerts

Young People's Concerts are for schools, homeschools and families looking for educational opportunities. From The Tin Forest to At The Ballet, each Minnesota Orchestra Young People's Concert focuses on a specific musical element, composer, time period or theme.

Homeschoolers can order tickets tickets to attend any of the Young People's Concerts.

Free workshops for homeschool families are presented at Orchestra Hall prior to each concert. To attend a workshop, first purchase your tickets to the concert, then contact the Education/Outreach office at 612-371-7197 or education@mnorch.org. Please indicate which workshop you plan to attend, the number of children/adults attending, and your ticket order number.

Minnesota Orchestra also provides a curriculum (with 20-30 pages of lesson plans and activities) and sample recordings available for download.

Young People's Concerts are great for all ages, but younger kids (1st-3rd grade) may especially enjoy the following three because of the story element in them: Tin Forest, Hansel and Gretel, and Peter and the Wolf. There will be dancing in At the Ballet, so if you have kids that like that, it'd be a good one to attend.
