A place where expeditions begin, Base Camp introduces young people to the type of activities that are core elements of Scouting right in the heart of the metro area. Young people of all ages and backgrounds can experience the adventures of Scouting's learning-by-doing approach to non-formal education.

Homeschool Classes

At Homeschool Field Trip Days, homeschool families can take advantage of the fabulous field trip curriculums available from Base Camp, including Outdoor Skills, Environmental Science and STEM/Aviation. Base Camp is designed to do learning in a very hands-on and interactive way to engage students. All curriculums are tied to the Minnesota State standards.

Cost per Child/Student: $10 to $15
Cost per Adult/Educator: free

Target Age Range: To allow activities to be tailored to the right level of challenge, students participate in age groups of 5-8 years, 9-12 years and 13-18 years

Sibling Policy: If you want your family to stay together, choose the same age range for all kids.
Parent/Guardian/Educator Policy: Parents/teachers are encouraged and welcome to attend with their children at no charge.

Driving Directions: Base Camp is conveniently located off of Minnesota Highway 55 and Bloomington Road in Historic Fort Snelling, 1/3 of a mile from the Fort Snelling Light Rail station.
