Homeschool Classes

  • Acting Adventures gives all children the opportunity to participate in a multitude of activities while discovering the Arts and their creativity within: Acting, singing, dancing, creative movement, tumbling, puppetry, improv, and more. Acting Adventures builds their self esteem and confidence and their social, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Special Need Program provides children with special needs have the opportunity to experience the world of the Arts. Children with Autism spectrum disorders and children with cognitive and or physical disabilities are welcomed to participate. A parent or PCA must remain on premise during class. Activities are adapted for each and every child so they will experience fun and success in their class. Children participate in Acting, singing, dancing, creative movement, tumbling, improv and more. Social stories and visual cues help children improve their understanding and communication skills. This is not a music therapy class, but rather an exploration of the Arts in a fun welcoming atmosphere with peers.

Age appropriate music is used in all classes including selections from Disney, Broadway Musicals, classical, special children's music and more.

All children receive a folder with a calendar of activities at their first class showing what will be covered during the session. Children may be asked periodically to work at home on memorization of lines, building a short story or telling a joke.

All children will need a pair of jazz shoes with gripper bottoms to prevent them from slipping and sliding, which may be purchased at COK Art Center or elsewhere. Children should be dressed in something comfortable to move in such as a leotard with tights or sweatpants and a T-shirt.

Children receive the optional opportunity to perform in community events and the year end show.
