Choose a lesson from one of three themes: People, Power or Flour.

  • People: Meet a character from Minnesota's past, learning about history through the character's life and stories. Or, take a guided tour "behind the scenes" of the Washburn A Mill - once the largest flour mill in the world.
  • Power: How does water equal power? Find out through a class in the museum's Water Lab. Steer logs downriver, build a mill city, and use the mighty Mississippi's current to the millers' advantage.
  • Flour: Spend time in our Baking Lab, modeled after the test kitchens of Pillsbury and General Mills. Groups of students will learn how flour is an important staple in our daily lives.

School Programs are available from October 1st to June 15th.
