SERIES CLASSES
Students would participate in a number of series classes focusing on either a specific subject/medium (for example large scale abstract acrylic paintings), a specific process (soda fired ceramics), or an overview of a number of different subjects/mediums. Most series classes are 4-6 weeks in length and meet once a week for 1.5-3 hours. Series classes can either be on-site at the Art Center or off-site at your facility.
FULL-DAY ONE-DAY WORKSHOP
Students participate in an all-day workshop focusing on one to two different subjects/ mediums. For example, we have a partnership with the Northwest Suburban High School Conference where they come to the Art Center for one 6 hour day. During those 6 hours students participate in two different classes, one from 8:45 - 11:15 AM and one from 12 - 2:30 PM. Students choose from a set number of classes and media choices including; painting, drawing, printmaking, life drawing (clothed individual), bookmaking, ceramics (raku, soda fire, and pit fire), welding, stone carving, wood carving, fiber arts and photography. These one-day workshop events are set-up well in advance and usually include 75-150 students participating. Full-Day Workshops can either be on-site at the Art Center or off-site at your facility.
HALF-DAY, ONE-DAY WORKSHOP
A smaller number of students (10-20) would come to the Art Center to study a
specific subject and medium (for example life drawing). The entire lesson and
projects would be completed in 3 hours time. Half-Day Workshops can either be on-site at the Art Center or off-site at your facility.
ART CENTER TOURS
Groups of up to 30 people can participate in an educational tour of the Art Center facility and exhibition spaces. Tours are lead by Art Center staff and are 45 minutes to 1 hour in length.
