Tour limestone buildings from the era when the American Fur Company including the home of the company's young regional manager - Henry Hastings Sibley, a fur company cold store, and the residence of longtime trader-turned-hotelier Jean-Baptiste Faribault.

The town of Mendota was one of the most important places in Minnesota in the 19th century. The center of the fur trade with the Dakota, Mendota was also the home of Henry Sibley, Minnesota’s first governor. Experience the fur trade in the cold store, walk the banks of the Mississippi and tour the furnished homes of Sibley and fellow fur trader Jean-Baptiste Faribault. Tours can be adapted for any grade, Kindergarten through college.

Sibley tours are the perfect complement to a visit to Historic Fort Snelling. Discounts are available for booking both sites.

Cost
School visits are $4 per person. Special hands-on archaeology program available for groups for additional cost.
